Ukraine’s furniture exports decreased by 3.2% to $730M.

Oksana Donska, a Ukrainian Furniture Association board member, reports that the main reason for the decline was the blockade of the Polish-Ukrainian border. It is expected that the delayed demand from November and the lifting of the border blockade with Poland will make it possible to ship orders and reach the $810M export level of 2023 and significantly increase the volume of exports next year.

The specific weight of furniture exports in the total volume of exported Ukrainian goods for 11 months was 2.2%. From 2009 to 2021, exports of Ukrainian furniture grew by an average of 13.5% annually from $0.2B to a record high of $1.1B in 2021.

This year, compared to 11 months of 2022, the share of exports to Poland decreased from 35.1% ($264.6M) to 29.5% ($215.2M). At the same time, the volume of exports to Germany increased significantly by 17%, from $129.3M to $151.3M.
