Ukraine plans to enter the global semiconductor market and produce 50,000 chips per month.

This figure is planned to be reached within three years from the start of the factory’s construction, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Valeriya Ionan said. She said, “we will meet the domestic market’s needs and create a base for export.” According to her, the production of chips in Ukraine will provide most of the country’s industrial sectors.

At the same time, a specific date for the start of construction were not revealed. Ionan emphasized that Ukraine will create a network of fabless companies (companies that do not have their own factories) with automated microcircuit production design, allowing them to enter the chip market and establish a position in the global semiconductor market.

In turn, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced that his ministry plans to develop and present a chip in 2024.
