Stoltenberg announces the creation of a €100B fund for Ukraine’s financial support and dispels Ukraine’s expectations regarding NATO membership.

During his visit to Kyiv, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg initiated the creation of a special €100B fund for the support of Ukraine’s military over five years, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint briefing with the head of NATO.

In turn, Stoltenberg invited Zelenskyy to the summit in Washington but noted that inviting Ukraine to NATO requires the consent of all 32 members. Therefore, do not expect that Ukraine will receive an invitation in July.

In addition, Stoltenberg emphasized that it is important that the allies do not delay the delivery of aid to Ukraine because, in the event of Russia’s military success in Ukraine, the West would have to spend much more on its defense.

A similar thesis was put forward by the former Minister of State for the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, James Heappey, who warned that Ukraine’s defeat would cost the West trillions of dollars in a new cold war.
