Turnover at Ukrainian shopping malls is increasing, and foot traffic has exceeded pre-war indicators.

The largest Ukrainian shopping and entertainment centers noted a significant increase in turnover in hryvnia, by 40%-100% compared to last year, and foot traffic, which has exceeded pre-war indicators, said the top managers of shopping centers at the RAU Summit 2023 in Kyiv.

In the capital’s Respublika Park, the number of shoppers in October exceeded the pre-war December 2021 figure with 1.57 million people, against 1.54 million. Turnover in hryvnia compared to December 2021 increased by 41% and in dollars by 5%.

Retroville Shopping Center traffic reached a record increase of 30% compared to the pre-war period. The turnover in hryvnia in December compared to January 2022 increased for almost all tenants, and for half of the tenants in dollars.

The Gulliver business and shopping center currently records approximately 17,000 unique visitors per day. As for goods turnover, compared to the pre-war period the average increase in dollars is 5-7%.

Shopping centers Smart Plaza Obolon, Pyramid, and Aladdin also show an increase in indicators compared to last year. Similar trends are recorded in other large cities of Ukraine.
