The Ukrainian Parliament has appealed to the NATO member states to support Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance.

Ukrainian Parliament Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and head parliament members appealed to NATO member states and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly regarding Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance.

The parliamentarians have called on the member states’ parliaments and the assembly to implement the decision from the Bucharest NATO summit in 2008 regarding Ukraine’s membership. To accomplish this, the member states of the Alliance should appeal to their governments with a request to facilitate the adoption of joint documents with Ukraine in support of its approach to future membership during NATO’s spring session in Luxembourg and the Vilnius NATO summit.

In addition, NATO members are invited to call on their governments to take all measures to convene a leadership meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission with the participation of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, within the framework of the Vilnius NATO Summit.
