The Japanese government has invested $20M in a private venture fund focused on supporting Ukraine.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will invest $20M in the American venture fund Horizon Capital Growth Fund IV. This is a historic event, as it is the first investment Horizon Capital has received from a Japanese investor.

Investments from Japan will be directed to support the global growth of innovative technological companies of Ukrainian origin and expand their research and development platforms.

JICA is a Japanese government agency that administers international aid to developing countries. The organization promotes international cooperation by providing technical assistance, grants, loans, and training programs. JICA operates in more than 140 countries.

Horizon Capital is an American private investment company with total capital of $1.6 billion, specializing in investing in technology and export-oriented companies in Ukraine and Moldova.
