A new venture capital fund is ready to invest in Ukrainian start-ups.

This year, the venture fund SMG Capital and venture builder SMG Builder were launched in Ukraine. The expected total amount of the fund is $10M, said VC fund partner Oleksandr Shynkarev.

Currently, the SMG Capital fund is composed of almost 50% of its own funds and funds from partners. The investment direction — companies with Ukrainian founders focused on the US market. In total, the investors plan to invest in 100 early-stage tech startups.

SMG Builder offers the following opportunities for startups: an investment of $25,000, the opportunity to become a co-founder of a startup, an opportunity to find a team to launch a startup, and a recommendation for acceptance to an internship at an international company. Future partners of the builder can become startup co-founders, mentors, or consultants to help new companies enter the US market.
