Russian oligarch’s iron ore becomes the Ukrainian property.

The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine transferred almost 170,000 tons of iron ore with an estimated value of UAH 1.8B to the National Agency for Identification, Search and Asset Management, the bureau informs. It is noted that during 2021-2022, a non-resident legal entity registered in the EU, together with Russian companies affiliated with a Russian oligarch, and declared the transfer of iron ore worth more than UAH 1.3B through Ukrainian territory to Asian countries as transit. Company officials shipped goods to entrepreneurs from Ukraine without paying customs duties causing UAH 118M ($3.2M) in losses to the state. The representatives from the aggressor country tried to transport the raw materials by sea to Russia illegally. The batch of iron ore that has been disocvered belongs to the company of the Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, who is part of the inner circle of the Kremlin’s top military and political leadership.
