Four waste processing plants with a capacity of 500,000 tons will be built in the Poltava region, at a cost of $130M.

By the end of May 2024, the Poltava, Lubny, Kremenchuk, and Kobelyaky communities will determine construction sites for new waste processing plants. The planned enterprises will be able to fully process the waste generated in these regions.

An initial document package is being prepared, and it will soon be ready to present to potential investors and financial institutions. There are already proposals from several investors who are interested in the the construction of these factories.

The Poltava region will become one of the pilot regions. The plants will process up to 500,000 tons of solid household waste per year. The project plans to attract about $130M from international investors. International banks are ready to consider financing up to 80% of the construction of these facilities, with the rest coming from the private sector.

In addition, these plants will produce electricity, so when choosing a site consideration must be given to the technical requirements to transfer this energy to the network.
