Exports from Ukraine to the JYSK global trade network increased by 60% in 2023.

As Iryna Romanchuk, the chain’s procurement manager, reported: “This figure could have been higher if the borders had not been blocked at the end of 2023, extending the delivery of goods from a week to a month or two, which had a very negative effect on all Ukrainian exporters.”

For example, in 2023 JYSK expanded its cooperation with the Ukrainian furniture manufacturer, Acord-Import, by transferring the production of some of its furniture from the EU to Ukraine and by expanding its assortment with new items. This manufacturer shipped more than 1,200 truckloads of finished furniture to JYSK’s European distribution centers. As a result of the high cost of transportation to European countries, Ukrainian-made upholstered furniture is losing its competitiveness, which is why most office furniture is currently exported.

In addition, JYSK also purchases blankets, pillows, and household goods in Ukraine.

Romanchuk noted that the share of Ukrainian-made goods in the global JYSK network is increasing. This year, about 20 new articles have been introduced.
