After a ten-day strike, the Ukrainian-Polish checkpoint resumed operation.

The Yagodin – Dorogusk checkpoint was reopened after a strike by Polish carriers. Beginning May 15, truck traffic resumed normal volume, the Ministry of Infrastructure reported.

The 10-day strike caused significant losses to Ukrainian carriers. Usually, up to 700 trucks pass the checkpoint daily, and due to the strike, the throughput was reduced to a few dozen vehicles. On Sunday morning, there were almost 2,400 trucks at the Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoint – the largest among all border checkpoints.

On May 7, the Ministry of Infrastructure temporarily canceled the permit requirement for Polish carriers transporting cargo to Ukraine from any EU country. This was one of the key demands of the Polish strikers. But Ukraine believes that such transportation requires permits and is not bilateral. Clarification from the European Commission is awaited.
