A Turkish e-commerce giant plans to enter the Ukrainian market.

One of the largest marketplaces in Turkey, Hepsiburada, is preparing to enter the Ukrainian market, said the company’s general director, Nilhan Onal Gökcetekin.

“Ukraine is a difficult but important market for Turkey. For us, this is a strategic investment. When the situation in Ukraine stabilizes, we want to be ready for that in the future,” she said.

Hepsiburada, founded in 1998 and officially known as D-MARKET Electronic Services & Trading, has been publicly traded on the US Nasdaq exchange since mid-2021. The Hepsiburada website sells electronics, home appliances, home goods, clothing, shoes, accessories, cosmetics, household chemicals, and more. It is the second most popular retail site in Turkey.

Hepsiburada.com had 104 million visits in December. For comparison, the leaders of the Ukrainian market, Rozetka and Prom, had about 43-44 million.
