How will Ukraine’s partners help it close the hole in its budget this year?

According to the Ukrainian government, the need for international financing in 2024 is $37.2B. As of April 20, Ukraine has received $10.2B:

  1. $4.9B from the EU (Ukraine Facility)
  2. $2.1B from Japan
  3. $1.5B from Canada
  4. $0.9B from the IMF
  5. $0.5B from Britain
  6. $0.3B from Norway

Ukraine should receive another $27B by the end of the year from the following sources:

  1. Ukraine Facility – a €1.5B tranche is expected at the end of April, and another €1.9B may arrive in May. In total, EU aid this year should amount to €16.1B (€4.5B has been received).
  2. IMF – a $5.4B tranche is planned for 2024, $0.88B has already been received.
  3. The World Bank – $1.5B in soft loans
  4. US aid – $7.85B in budget support, which is included in the aid bill.

If all these expectations are met, they amount to $26.5B.
