Zaluzhnyi has voiced Ukraine’s priorities for victory in the war.

Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhnyi noted that the war is becoming “positional”, which consists of static and exhausting battles of attrition. This benefits only Russia, as it will allow the aggressor to restore its military power, which will threaten Ukraine in the future.

To prevent this, it is necessary to consider five priorities. The first is primary weapons (missiles, drones, and shells) and aviation. The second is means of radio-electronic warfare. Zaluzhnyi called this the key to winning the drone war. The third is counter-battery fire and destruction of enemy artillery. In this war, artillery and missile fire constitute 60-80% of all military tasks. The fourth is demining technology. Ukraine needs radar-like sensors that use invisible pulses of light to detect mines in the ground and smoke systems to hide the activities of mine-clearing units. The fifth is to build up reserves.

“Russia has been unable to use its advantage in manpower because Putin is concerned that a general mobilization could provoke a political crisis. Because the aggressor state cannot train and equip enough people“, Zaluzhnyi noted.
