Energoatom President Petro Kotin and Urenco Director Borys Shukhta have agreed on long-term cooperation to provide enriched uranium to Ukrainian nuclear power plants starting in 2026. According to Energoatom, Kotin and Shukhta also discussed increasing the supply of enriched uranium to Westinghouse to produce nuclear fuel for Ukrainian nuclear power plants in 2024-2025. Before that, on August 1, 2019, Energoatom and Urenco reached an agreement on the supply of enriched uranium. In April 2022, the next stage of negotiations between the companies took place following Ukraine’s complete rejection of Russian nuclear fuel.
