United24 funds will be used to begin the reconstruction of damaged housing in the Kyiv region.
The cabinet has launched a reconstruction project for the first 18 apartment buildings with money raised through the United24 fundraising platform. These residential buildings are located in Irpen, Borodyanka, Gostomel, and the villages of Buzova and Mila – suburbs of the capital, which were destroyed during the Russian offensive in the Kyiv region in February-March 2022. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, the United24 platform has collected most of the funds needed for the new construction. This week, the government has allocated the first UAH 465M to begin reconstruction, which will allow more than 4,000 residents to return to their homes. It is also noted that an electronic reconstruction system will be created to monitor each registered, damaged house and provide information about donations and the progress in reconstruction.
