Ukraine’s debt is increasing to producers of green energy.
State energy company Ukrenergo already owes UAH 16B ($435M) to the state-owned enterprise Guaranteed Buyer, which is owed for green energy produced in 2021-2023.
At the same time, in 10 days of April, the Guaranteed buyer has paid 80% of its debts to renewable energy companies. Compared to the previous month, the percentage of payments increased by almost 30%.
The reasons for the increase in payments to producers under the green tariff include two factors: the first is a significant improvement in the electricity trade indicators by the Guaranteed Buyer. The second factor is the partial implementation of the advance payment by Ukrenergo.
At the same time, the portion of unpaid debt for produced green electricity since the beginning of the year is 35%.
