Ukraine will resume electricity exports no earlier than March, according to a forecast voiced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada’s Energy Committee, Andrii Gerus. The parliamentarian added that the potential loss of export earnings for Ukraine from the stoppage of export is very large – billions of hryvnias. But, according to Gerus, Ukrainian authorities have prioritized the supply of electricity in Ukraine and its delivery to Ukrainian consumers at all hours of the day. In September, electricity was the most important export product for Ukraine after agricultural products. At the same time, according to Gerus, European partners understood Ukraine’s decision to stop exporting electricity beginning October 11.
