Ukraine suspended the new grain corridor’s operations due to threat from the Russian Federation, but businesses are strengthening the Odesa region’s air defense.
On October 26, Ukraine suspended use of the new Black Sea grain corridor due to a threat from Russian military aircraft. It is reported that a de facto suspension has been in effect for the past two days based on the military’s decision, which cited the “explosive threat” that arose because of increased Russian aviation activity. The current ban applies to October 26, but it may be extended. At the same time, the Ministry of Reconstruction denied the suspension of the grain corridor.
At the same time, four terminals located in the port of Pivdenny will allocate $400,000 to create additional mobile air defense groups to protect Odesa and its residents from Shahed drone attacks. Half of this amount will be allocated by the Hungarian owner of the TIS group, Oleksiy Fedorychev, to purchase additional air defense systems.
