Ukraine plans to cover energy supplier losses with reparations from the Russian Federation.
The Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the Parliament a draft law on the specifics of the provision of energy and communal services under martial law.
The losses from enterprises are to be compensated by reparations from Russia. Specifically, compensation for losses to enterprises in an area where hostilities are taking place, as well as the temporarily occupied areas.
In the accompanying documents to the draft law, it is noted that enterprises provide services around the clock but do not receive payment for them and, accordingly, suffer losses.
The draft law’s authors noted that fees for housing and communal services are charged, and invoices for their payment are issued to the legal owners of the premises forcibly evicted by the Russian occupiers.
