Poland wants to ban the import of Ukrainian agricultural products through the end of the year.

In negotiations with the European Commission, the country seeks to extend the ban on imports until the end of 2023, said Polish Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus.

“It is significant for us that the mechanisms we are introducing today work longer so that they protect our Polish market longer,” he emphasized.

Telus said that after discussions, the EU has already agreed to some proposals from Poland and other neighbors of Ukraine. According to him, several products have already been discussed, but Poland has more recommendations for the ban, including apple juice, poultry, and soft fruits.

In addition, the negotiators insist that the €100M proposed by the EU to help farmers is too little.
