Ukraine has received official status in the ENTSO-E.
State-owned Ukrenergo has acquired the status of an observer member of the European network of electricity transmission system operators, ENTSO-E. The agreement on its provision was signed on Tuesday in Warsaw, as announced by the Ukraine Ministry of Energy. The status of an observer member will enable Ukrenergo to join the International Association of European Transmission System Operators. As an observer member, the Ukrainian operator will be able to participate in meetings of the ENTSO-E Continental Europe Regional Group. Representatives of the company, in particular, will be able to join both the ENTSO-E working and expert groups, which deal with electricity market development, balancing, ancillary services, electronic data exchange, development of cybersecurity in the electricity sector, and integration of renewable energy sources.
