Ukraine has launched an updated transmission line to export electricity to Poland.
Ukrainian and Polish technicians carried out modernization efforts, and the line has been in operation, having since passed the three-day test period, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. He emphasized that the additional powerful interconnector increases Ukraine’s export-import capabilities.
Ukrenergo clarified that the total length of the modernized line reaches almost 400 km, and more than 70% of it passes through Ukrainian territory. The project’s total cost was UAH 350M ($9.5M).
“This line will strengthen the connection between the Ukrainian and European energy systems and will be an additional element of European energy security and contributes to the development of a stable energy network in Ukraine,” added the head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
