Ukraine expects another €1B in economic aid from Italy.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said he expects €1B in financial support from the Italian export credit agency, SACE, to restore the economy and infrastructure and finance basic Ukrainian humanitarian and social needs.

“In addition to the €500M already provided, the agency is ready to allocate another €1B to support trade and financial operations, particularly in healthcare and infrastructure,” Shmyhal said.

The head of the government added that Italian financial development institution SIMEST will support investment from Italian companies in Ukraine’s recovery through export credit instruments, preferential lending, and direct investments.

In her turn, the head of the Italian government, Giorgia Meloni, noted that the Italian government will support the private sector and cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries.
