Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko held meetings with US Commerce Minister Gina Raimondo, where she emphasized that the stabilization of the Ukrainian economy is based on stable exports, especially metallurgy. According to Svyridenko, steel is an area where Ukraine is particularly interested in expanding sanctions against the Russian Federation and in obtaining access to the American market. “We call for including Ukrainian ore and other products in the Western supply chain and replacing Russia in these markets. It is also important to equate Ukrainian ore and pig iron with products from the EU and continue exemption (at least until the end of 2024) for products of Ukrainian export from tariffs,” Svyridenko noted.
