Ukraine Armed Forces hit airfields in occupied Berdyansk and Luhansk with ATACMS missiles.

As a result of the special operation, identified as DragonFly, Ukraine destroyed nine helicopters, special equipment, an anti-aircraft installation, an ammunition depot, and damaged airfield runways. The enemy’s losses amount to dozens of dead and wounded soldiers.

According to the WSJ and Politico, the US secretly transferred long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine, which the Ukrainian military used to target airfields in Luhansk and Berdyansk, that are currently occupied by the Russian Federation. The ATACMS modification that Ukraine received has a range of about 160 km.

Later, during his daily address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces used long-range ATACMS missiles for the first time.

“Today, we are especially grateful to the United States. Our agreements with Joe Biden are being carried out very accurately – ATACMS have shown themselves,” the president noted.
