The Russians have almost completely eliminated the safety and security system at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

According to the National Nuclear Regulatory Commission, by order of the occupation administration, the transmission of information from the Automated System for Monitoring the Radiation Situation was blocked.

“The Ukrainian state nuclear company informed the IAEA about this situation, which threatens the safety of the ZNPP, but did not receive any response from the IAEA to resolve this situation“, the agency noted. They emphasize that restoration of nuclear safety and security systems at the ZNPP is possible only under the condition of complete deoccupation and demilitarization of the plant.

Ukraine hopes for the speedy implementation of the five IAEA principles for avoiding a nuclear accident announced at the UN Security Council meeting on May 30, the State Nuclear Regulatory Commission added.
