The European Parliament discusses the provision of €50B to Ukraine by 2027.

According to the Representative of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Michael Gahler, the new document envisages the combination of Ukraine’s reconstruction process and accession to the EU.

According to Gahler, the draft report proposes amendments that “contribute to increased transparency throughout the financing, such as the creation of a single portal for financial transactions related to the global loan granted to Ukraine, information on the goals and intermediate stages, by which the payment of the loan, the contributions of third countries and international organizations and the holding of a regular dialogue on the restoration of Ukraine in the European Parliament will be carried out.”

It is also necessary to “guarantee that EU funding can be used to create new investments”. Most of the European Parliament members supported providing Ukraine with €50B through 2027.
