The European Commission and Canada have launched a global fundraiser for Ukrainian refugees.

 The European Commission and the Canadian Government, in partnership with the international human rights organization Global Citizen, have announced the launch of a global campaign to raise funding to support refugees from Ukraine’s war against Russia. According to the European Commission, the goal of Stand Up for Ukraine is to mobilize governments, institutions, artists, companies, and individuals to raise funds for humanitarian support in Ukraine and neighboring countries. The culmination of this campaign will be an event organized jointly by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on April 9.
