The EU will provide Ukraine with €2B in macro-financial assistance soon, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said at a press conference following the informal EU summit on October 7. This is a part of the second tranche of macro-financial aid totaling €5B. The EC president emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the European Union has allocated €19B in assistance to Ukraine, and this amount does not include the military support provided by the EU allies. According to the chairman of the European Commission, the issue of further support for Ukraine was discussed during the leaders’ meeting.
