The EU will provide Ukraine €1B in emergency aid to restore its energy infrastructure.

The target of Russia’s attacks on Ukraine is civilian infrastructure, particularly energy infrastructure. Therefore, the EU is working with Ukraine to repair this infrastructure by providing emergency aid for €1B, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said at the International Expert Conference on Recovery, Reconstruction and Modernization of Ukraine in Berlin. According to the EC president, the EU also provided Ukraine with 400 electric generators. As von der Leyen added, Ukrainians need help with daily survival. Therefore, it will work with EU member states so that the European Union can support Ukraine with liquidity in 2023.
