Steel production has slowed considerably due to the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP.

Ukraine’s largest metallurgical plant, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, has stopped steel production to reduce water consumption. Almost all water-cooled equipment operation is temporarily suspended. The company will maintain its production units and minimize water consumption until the situation normalizes.

ArcelorMittal will stop steel smelting and production of rolled products. Only the blast furnace, coke chemical production, and GZK will remain operational. The company’s logistics and raw material chain are unaffected, and all orders will be fulfilled, the company promises.

How quickly the enterprise will be able to return to regular operation will be clear within the next three to four days after analyzing the depth of the water level drop in the Kakhovka Reservoir and other consequences of the terrorist attack.
