Russian forces have mined two units of the Zaporizhzhia NPP and are trying to connect them to the Russian power system.

The Russians are trying to connect the Zaporizhzhya NPP to power grids in order to supply electricity to occupied Crimea or to connect the power system to the Russian network. As the ex-head of the State Nuclear Regulation Inspection of Ukraine, Hryhoriy Plachkov, emphasized, the only way to protect Ukraine and the world from a large-scale nuclear disaster is to liberate and demilitarize the plant. For now the safety and integrity of the Zaporizhzhya NPP depends on the unpredictable actions of the occupiers. “We know that the first and second power units are mined. We also know that there is abuse of personnel,” Plachkov said.
