Putin’s threats to use nuclear weapons: it will not break us.

Russia’s use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine will be a disaster for the world, but it will not break us, said the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba. “If the president’s order to make his nuclear weapons on high alert is a direct threat to the use of these nuclear weapons against Ukraine, then I have a very simple message: it will be a catastrophe for the world, but it will not break us”, he said. At the same time, Kuleba assessed Vladimir Putin’s decree on transferring the “deterrence force” to a special regime of combat duty as an attempt to raise rates and put pressure on the Ukrainian delegation in the talks. “As you have noticed, this order of President Putin came shortly after the announcement that the two delegations were ready to meet. We see this order as an attempt to raise rates and put additional pressure on the Ukrainian delegation, but we will not succumb to this pressure”, the Minister said.
