Privatization: Ukrbud, a state-owned construction company, is being prepared for sale; the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyy port deal is under threat.
The State Property Fund (SPFU) has determined the starting price for the sale of the state-owned stake in the Construction Company Ukrbud – ₴262.6M. The privatization terms and starting price have yet to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Ukrbud, established by the government in 2004, is engaged in the design of industrial and civil facilities, construction and installation works, and worker training. As of September 2024, Ukrbud comprised 10 separate structural divisions and 11 subsidiaries, with a book value of over ₴265M ($6.5M). Ukrbud has 25 real estate properties in 15 cities on its balance sheet and 16 office premises in Kyiv and Dnipro.
In other developments, the purchase agreement from the recent privatization of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyy Seaport is being additionally investigated to determine the funding’s origin. The purchase may be canceled, as after the auction was completed, the beneficial owner of the purchasing company was changed to a former politician from the Party of Regions, a banned pro-Russian political party.
