President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke to the US lawmakers but could not change the Republicans’ position.

Zelenskyy spoke in the US Senate, where he met with the leaders of both parties. He told the senators about Ukraine’s current security and economic situation and the importance of maintaining vital American support. After his speech in the Senate, the President of Ukraine went to the House of Representatives to persuade the Republicans who lead the House to support aid for Ukraine.

Senior official Lindsey Graham said that “nothing has changed” after the senators met with Zelenskyy.

“He hasn’t changed my mind about what we need to do,” Graham noted.

He told Zelenskyy that the security of the US border is an issue that is key to making a deal.

Republican Senator Eric Schmitt, after meeting with Zelenskyy, said that he had not heard anything new. According to him, neither Zelenskyy nor “(any) those in favor of allocating $60B” did not say “what victory looks like, or how we will get to it.”
