Last year, Ukraine’s energy sector delivered ₴115B to the budget.

This total refers to contributions from the payment of excise duty and rent of energy sector enterprises, which are 17% more than in 2022, reported DiXi Group.

It is noted that the taxpayers remitted the most significant amount through the excise duty – ₴60.83B, where ₴53.89B came from rent payments. The largest increase in revenue for the year was from the excise tax on fuel: revenues from the sale of petroleum products produced in Ukraine increased by 300% while tax revenue from the sale of fuel imported from abroad increased by 170%.

The revenues from the transportation of oil and oil products through pipelines increased by 61%, from oil production by 34%, and the use of water for hydropower needs by 29%.

The biggest drop was shown in the income from the rent for natural gas production (35%). Income from rent for gas condensate production decreased by 4%.

The rental income for subsoil use of the continental shelf decreased significantly from ₴15.1M to ₴1,500. These losses are related to the temporary occupation of most of the shelf deposits.
