Italy is one step away from signing an agreement on security guarantees, New Zealand is providing a $16M aid package, and Lithuania calls for a long-term support.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that his country is close to signing a bilateral agreement on security guarantees with Ukraine.

In turn, New Zealand will allocate an aid package to Ukraine worth almost NZD 26M ($15.9M). With this package, the country’s total aid over the two years of the full-scale invasion will reach more than $100M. The new aid package provides:

  1. $6.5M for the International Fund of Ukraine to purchase weapons and ammunition
  2. $7M in humanitarian aid;
  3. $3M to the World Bank Trust Fund for assistance, recovery, reconstruction, and reform in Ukraine

In addition, the government gives its assurances that New Zealand will continue training the Ukrainian military in Europe until June 2025.

And Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics said a long-term support program for Ukraine should be adopted.
