Last year, the 1,000 largest Ukrainian companies earned UAH 6 trillion.
According to YouControl, most top enterprises are companies that were registered 15-30 years ago. The mentioned 1,000 companies provide more than 50% of the total revenue of all enterprises in the country.
The largest sectors of these large businesses are: the oil and gas sector (146 companies), the food industry (129), the electric power industry (105), and agriculture (102). More than 50 companies among the turnover leaders operate in sectors such as wholesale and retail trade, the chemical industry, and metallurgy.
At the same time, industries that utilize natural resources remain the basis of Ukraine’s big business. Therefore, Ukraine’s sectoral profile and export specialization are still determined by the agricultural complex, food industry, and such heavy industries as metallurgy, the chemical industry, and energy.
