Japan will provide $470M for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The money will be provided by the Japanese government agency, JICA, in the form of a grant under the Emergency Recovery Program aimed at critical infrastructure.

Funds will be allocated to support the following areas: equipment for humanitarian demining, transport, energy services, destruction waste management, water supply infrastructure, medical equipment, equipment for education, the agricultural sector, the public broadcasting sector, and communal services at the local level.

In addition, the Japanese government will allocate $70M in grant support for Ukraine’s recovery through the mechanism of the UN Development Program.

Since the beginning of the year, foreign countries have agreed to allocate more than $600M to rebuild Ukraine.
