Italy expands its cooperation with Ukraine in critical raw material supply chains and invests €200M to restore the Ukrainian energy system.
Ukraine and Italy signed an agreement to deepen their logistics cooperation in critical raw materials. Attracting investment and encouraging innovation in the sphere’s development is one of Ukraine’s priorities. This concerns promoting safe and sustainable practices within value chains of critical raw materials and expanding commercial and investment opportunities. The partnership will strengthen existing ties and promote high standards that are sufficient to meet current challenges.
Moreover, Italian businesses expressed interest in cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises in five key sectors of the Ukrainian economy: metallurgy and critical materials, renewable energy sources, the defense industry, agro-processing, and engineering.
Also, head of the Italian Foreign Ministry Antonio Tajani said that his country is investing €200M in the restoration of the Ukrainian energy industry, which has been devastated by Russian attacks. He notes that Italy is organizing a conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction in 2025 and that it is necessary to invest in reconstruction now.
