Inflation in Ukraine in July 2022 accelerated to 22.2% in annual terms,

according to the State Statistics Service. Compared to June, inflation was 0.7%, and since the beginning of the year – 18.2%. Over the last month, the price of eggs increased the most (by 8.7%), and fruit prices decreased (5.4%). Vegetables decreased in price by 1.9% in July, but compared to last year, their prices are twice as high. The situation with fuel is similar – in July it became 4.4% cheaper, but it is 77% more expensive than last year. The National Bank predicts that by the end of the year, inflation in Ukraine will exceed 30% (and not 20%, as previously expected) and will remain above the norm for at least two more years. Inflation in Ukraine is expected to return to the 5% target only in 2025.
