Experts name the conditions that will ensure a 5-10% increase in the export of Ukrainian IT services.

The director of the Lviv IT Cluster, Stepan Veselovsky, believes that the IT industry can increase export revenue by 5-10% in a year if effective and transparent mechanisms for booking key employees and business trips abroad are implemented. However, growth depends on when relevant decisions are made.

“If it happens within the first quarter, then my forecast is more than realistic“, the expert clarified.

In the worst-case scenario, if the IT industry remains without state support in solving the aforementioned problems, there may be an increase in the outflow of IT specialists abroad, the opening of new IT offices in other countries, increased employment of Ukrainian IT citizens living in the EU, the US, and Asia. After all, many Ukrainians are self-employed, even while living abroad.

“Thus, they pay taxes to the Ukrainian budget“, emphasized the expert.

Therefore, Ukraine risks losing some tax revenues and export earnings if it isn’t able to provide support for its IT sector.
