Due to high demand, Zhytomyr’s sugar factories have resumed work.

Despite military challenges, the agricultural sector in the Zhytomyr region was able to maintain stability, especially in the sugar beet cultivation and production segment. In 2023, the area devoted to the cultivation of sugar beets was increased by 500% compared to the previous year, which indicates the growth of investment in this segment of agro-industrial production.

A significant achievement was the resumption of operations at two enterprises: the Chervonsky Sugar Factory and the Signet Center, which were shut down in 2022. In 2023, the factories produced more than 60,000 tons of sugar.

“This volume of production not only fully meets the needs of the domestic market but also creates the prerequisites for export, which opens up new prospects for developing the region’s economy“, Zhytomyr city administration reported.
