Denmark will allocate $247M in military aid and signed a 10-year security support agreement with Ukraine.

The Danish government announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 1.7 billion kroner ($247.4M). The total amount of aid from Denmark to Ukraine, including this package, amounts to 33.3 billion crowns ($4.8B).

Moreover, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced that her country would guarantee security support to Ukraine for the next 10 years as part of a signed bilateral agreement stipulating that Denmark undertakes to support Ukraine in the military and civilian spheres.

Denmark is already working “at full capacity” to deliver the first F-16 aircraft to Ukraine this summer. However, as Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen noted, it is difficult to establish an exact timetable for the transfer of fighters. The final delivery of the F-16 depends, among other things, on the availability of Ukrainian pilots and fully trained support personnel and on whether the necessary logistics and infrastructure are in place in Ukraine.
