Britain has extended restriction-free trade for Ukrainian rolled flat and coil steel.
The cancellation of protective measures on the import of Ukrainian flat and coil steel products was extended until May 30, 2024, as announced by the UK government. The State Anti-Dumping Commission (TRA) justified its decision because the dumping of Ukrainian products is unlikely to happen again soon due to the reduced production capacity and the limitation of export opportunities resulting from the war.
The TRA also considered Ukraine’s need to restore steel production capacity and domestic demand for steel to rebuild the country’s infrastructure. At the same time, the TRA maintained anti-dumping restrictions on imports of rolling stock from China, Russia, Brazil, and Iran.
Hot-rolled flat products are commonly used as raw materials for other types of steel and account for nearly one-third of all steel production in the world.
