Advocates for Ukrainian business call for a reduction in rent for mining.
Business leaders favor lowering the rent for the extraction of minerals during the war, which will support the mining and metallurgical industry, which has had its production reduced by 53%, said the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. “To maintain the competitiveness of the domestic mining and metallurgical industry, it has been proposed to reduce the rent for subsoil use connected with the extraction of minerals during the period of martial law and for a period of time after martial law is over,” the UUIE said. At the same time, some of the products from the mining and metallurgical industry should be directed to domestic needs – to support and increase the work of industry, including such industries as mechanical engineering, the defense industry, construction, infrastructure reconstruction, and more.
