Ukraine’s military spending is up to $6B a month; $7.5B will not be enough.

The $7.5B in aid planned by the US administration will not be enough for Ukraine to effectively cover the costs of the full-scale Russian invasion, warned the head of the USAID, Samantha Power. According to USAID estimates, the Ukrainian government now spends $5-6B a month to maintain the country while under Russian attack. The US administration is preparing to allocate $7.5B to help Ukraine, and although “this is a lot, we know that this will not be enough, that even more direct budget support will be needed.” Samantha Power added that they would have to “go to Capitol Hill and appeal to the Americans.”
