The National Energy and Climate Plan requires over $40B in investment by 2030.

Deputy Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev reported: “According to our preliminary estimates, the realization of the goals of the National Energy and Climate Plan requires significant investments – more than $40B by 2030 alone. We must attract private and public financial resources to implement the plan.”

According to the plan, Ukraine aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 65% compared to 1990’s level, achieve a 27% share of renewable energy sources in total final energy consumption, and deepen the diversification of its energy supply by sourcing no more than 30% from any one supplier.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Environment, Svitlana Grynchuk, said that the total investment requirement for her department’s environmental restoration projects is approximately ₴82.5B, and in 2025, they plan to allocate ₴25B from the state budget for these needs.

“We have many tools to attract investment in environmental restoration, and one of them is the government’s DREAM ecosystem, which gives investors access to investment projects,” she added.
