Despite the war, Kyiv International Airport seeks to attract potential investors. What conditions are considered?
According to Volodymyr Kudak, the general manager of Master-Avia, the Kyiv Airport’s operating company, “We are trying to attract potential investors to develop the airport and grow its potential. However, while the airspace over Ukraine is closed, it is too early to discuss such plans”.
Kudak believes that airports will become a pillar for the rapid development of the country’s economy during the recovery period, and public-private partnerships will provide an impetus for attracting investment. One popular model that is practiced worldwide that can be adopted is an airport concession. This is when an airport is transferred to an investor under a concession agreement, and the investor makes payments to the state.
“In this case, investors will have a clear understanding of the legally guaranteed rules, which will attract money to the development of the aviation industry,” Kudak noted.
